“The residents of a lonely gulch in inland California bear witness to an uncanny and chilling discovery.”

Director: Jordan Peele
Writers: Jordan Peele
Staring: Barbie Ferreira, Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun, Daniel Kaluuya
Release Date: July 22, 2022

YUPPPP!!!!!! I missed this trailer on Sunday because I was cleaning dishes…but I am here now!

So what is Nope (2022) exactly? We are not really sure, and that is what makes it so freaking special. Just like Get Out (2017) and Us (2019), there is more to it than meets the eye. Peele’s movies have had some of the most ingenious, curious and devious trailers, and Nope follows in all of its predecessors footsteps.

Off the bat we see two of the stars of the picture, Keke Palmer and Danielle Kaluuya. It is set in the west and horses are mentioned prominently at the start and we see a horse being ridden. A brief history lesson of the first even motion pictures is relayed to the audience and Palmer’s character is related to the first man to ever create this media of moving enteratainment.

Nothing too scary happening yet, but we are getting a jazzy beat and a promise of some Hollywood flare. The Haywood ranch is the only black owned horse training ranch for current movie making. The energy that Palmer’s character is exuberayting seems magnetic, but also like a mask to cover-up some darker feelings.

Darkness in itself starts to fall over Haywood ranch and here come the frights. The music becomes sinister, and Jordan Peele’s name drops from the sky…just like it would appear this aliens that are setting down over this western terrain. Jordan Peele is delivering us a science-fiction horror movie which will include alien abductions and what appear to be terrifying extraterrestrials. Yes I am ready for this!

This is the face of one of the attendees of Steven Yeun’s rodeo. Either whatever the aliens did to her, or this alien itself, is not a very pretty sight to behold.

There is one other person who is covered up in the face like the women above is. And that is this random person below taking a speedometer reading on something…something that is most likely exceeding whatever a classic earth-bound vehicle can do.

Good guy or bad guy? We do not know.

We get a creepy look at a lizard-like eye. followed by a seemingly bloody hand reaching out for a fist bump? There is a creepy-crawly pulling his best Wilson from Home Improvement impersonation and numerous people swept up in some sort of sand or wind storm.

What is Daniel Kaluuya looking at from this chasm he finds himself in? Are those horses or cows being sucked up into some hole?

In the end we see Keke Palmer’s character get swelled up by some sort of gust of wind. is it natural? No way. It is some sort of tractor beam? Maybe, maybe not. All we know is that the most dangerous things about the story of Nope are things that we do not even know yet. Peele is not going to allow any major spoilers to drop, and that is the best thing and director could do now a days.

Between this obscurity of Nope, the soundtrack to Us an and sheer newness of Get Out, Pelle has developed some of the best movie trailers in this past decade.

Nope will terrorize us all in theaters on July 22, 2022.

The Mandalorian Chapter 22 (S3E6) Reaction | Guns For Hire

I am really sorry to say that The Mandalorian has turned into Halo for me. Season three has been a slog for me and I am sad to report that it has been over a month since I have watched an episode of Din DJarin and Grogu traversing the universe. And the saddest part? I…

A Taylor Swift Concert, Or 1 Million Dollars? Easy Answer.

Call me crazy. Call me an idiot. Call me moronic. You can call me whatever you want, but most importantly, call me a Swiftie. Last week John Rich put out this hypothetical tweet out there talking about the price of reselling Taylor Swift tickets. I immediately replied saying that the Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert…

Ranking The “Scream” Movies

No. 6Scream 3 (2000) Horror movie franchises tend to jump the shark at some point. Scream 3 (2000) pokes fun at this nature…but also falls into the same trap itself. The setting for Scream 3 is right up my alley. It is set on the set of a horror movie. It is on the set…

  1. Judging by the thing in the sky, it’s either aliens or demons. I just hope it’s not like the films from the 90s, how the trailers make it interesting and make you want to see it, but when you see it, it’s usually something silly. Hoping it’s not one of those cases
