There has been some news surrounding James Bond over the last couple days. It has been reported by multiple sources that fan favorite and thought-to-be front runner Idris Elba has pulled out be next the next 007. This comes on the heels of news that the runners of the Bond enterprise are looking for a younger reboot, aiming for an actor in the mid and lower 30s rather than someone more established in their 40s, etc.
According to Express UK (which I have no idea that you can trust) and Ross King:
“The latest rumor – and in some ways part of this is very much true – which is, basically, the Bond producers are looking for a younger Bond. Someone probably in their 30s. At the end of the day they want someone who will be Bond for the next three movies. For the franchise, they want someone who will carry it through the same way Daniel Craig did it.”
This sounds like they are looking for the long run and they will need someone who will buy into that visage. So goodbye Elba, Henry Cavill, and many other potential spy swooners.
For context, Daniel Craig was 38 when he appeared as James Bond in Casino Royale (2006).
Now is the time for speculation! Why not consider these fine fellows to be the next James Bond?
