QUICK THOUGHTS ON THE EPISODE

Devin
  • Devin got the worst date of all the three guys.
    • Another helicopter ride? All Jenn does is take these guys higher and higher.
    • There is also a picnic on the beach, but the visuals are not nearly as spectacular as those that Jonathon and Jenn get to walk down towards on their date.
  • We are going to see Devin begin to freak out later about how he doesnโ€™t feel love being reciprocated, and I am going to be honest: I totally get it.
    • Jenn is word-vomiting all over the place on this date. Devin is telling her he loves her, and she is hitting him with the โ€œOh you make me feel special.โ€
      • We are getting a lot of Greg and Katie Thurston vibes, but not as dramaticโ€ฆ.at least not yet.
    • Devin is saying and doing all the right things. He is taking all the compliments in stride and continues to have a smile on his face.
      • That smile does begin to sag, however. This is especially true when Devin and Jenn part ways after their overnight portion. Devin drops the โ€œL Wordโ€ again, and Jenn does not reciprocate.ย
  • The optimism of Devinโ€™s usual demeanor is dampened without a doubt.
  • The biggest take away from this date is Jennโ€™s word vomiting when trying to deflect how Devin talks about his emotions to her.
  • Also, didnโ€™t Jenn make a bad joke about Devinโ€™s eyes being Blue, even though they are not blue? Perhaps they are not seeing eye-to-eye on when it comes to their relationship.
  • Alright, so Devin is freaking out about not getting love reciprocated to him. He employs the only life jacket he knows, and that is Jesse Palmer.
    • The earnestness that Jesse Palmer has in this conversation is impressive.
  • All of this angst leads Devin to have a heart-to-heart conversation with Jenn in her hotel room.
    • Jenn answers the door with so much enthusiasm. Doesnโ€™t she know these knocks are never, ever a good thing? She did the same thing with Sam M.
    • The biggest take-away from this meeting is that Jenn says she is in love with Devin.
      • Oh, so Jenn is in love with Marcus and Devinโ€ฆand she never said it to Jonathon.
        • Well, this takes the suspense out of the rose ceremony.
Jonathon
  • I want the shorts that Jonathon wears all the time. They look comfortable as fuck.
  • We learned of Jonathonโ€™s last nameโ€ฆand itโ€™s Johnson. Was he called JJ as a kid?
  • I have a question for Jonathon about how he kept on his diet while on the show. It was nice of Jenn to poke fun at him having to break his diet.
    • They never talk about it on the show, but the guys who look so good must have a better eating regimen than a workout regimen. It takes more mental strength than physical strength not to snack all the time.
    • What was Jonathonโ€™s go-to drink then during all the cocktail parties?
    • Also, a zero percent chance they ate all six donuts.
  • Jonathon and Jenn have the best date; they drive around the island eating food, shopping, and running fun errands together.
  • During this whole date, Jenn is asking and hoping for Jonathon to open up.
    • What exactly is he opening up about? What exactly has he been holding back? I donโ€™t see the same hesitancy between Jonathon and Marcus. One seems all in but doesnโ€™t express it in the lovey-dovey way. Marcus is the one with a foot stuck in the mud.
  • Jonathonโ€™s morning is directly compared to Devinโ€™s mental state collapsing.
    • Mimosas in the morning. All the power to Jenn and Jonathon.
  • Come to the Men-Tell-All episode; we know that Jonathon is going home. He cannot make it without having the love word thrown his way.
    • Jonathon does seem to have some sort of coming-to-Jesus moment, knowing that he took too long to realize his true feelings.
      • With this being said, he breaks up with Jenn in the best way possible. He tells a good story and makes it about how special she is.
  • The man did nothing during the season.
  • I am very excited for Jonathon on the beaches of paradise.
Marcus
  • Marcus, oh Marcus. Every date you have is an adventure.
  • This is technically Marcusโ€™s third one-on-one date.
  • We see Marcus talk with Jesse on the golf range, but there is no way that Marcus plays.
    • There is no glove on his hand, and he just started hitting the balls available from the ball pyramid. You donโ€™t hit driver first. Not if you have a swing worth tuning.
      • I would also be willing to bet that Jesse packed his own clubs. And so he should. Good for him.
  • Jenn does look like a mermaid so that comparison they mentioned makes a lot of sense.
  • Emma loved the date these two got to go on with the scuba diving at night.
    • Those rays were absolutely massive. I did not expect them to be that big.
    • Emma teared up at the pure visual splendor of it all.
  • The most shocking part of this date is that Jenn is more than willing to boast about how she is in love with Marcus. She tells him that, to his face! That does not happen very often, if at all.
    • And to have Marcus not say anything back, not even that he is falling in love, is just as much of a shocker for this show.
    • Jenn deserves a bit of credit for not blowing up at the act that Marcus is unwilling to take that leap of faith.
      • That would have been very hypocritical of her.
  • I was surprised that Marcus was willing to go on the overnight trip. I thought he might say it was overextending himself.
  • Jenn is willing to wait and see if Marcus can come around the bend, meanwhile, another contestant is floundering at the idea of not getting enough validation.
  • Marcus doesnโ€™t get the first rose again at the rose ceremony.
    • He felt stress, but no stress for the audience what-so-ever.
Random Thoughts On Monday Episode
  • Strangely, they went in the same order for hometowns as they did for fantasy suites, with Devin first, Jonathon second, and Marcus third.
  • When she has to carry the emotional weight of a moment, Jenn can not do it compellingly.
  • I do not think that Jenn slept with any of the guys, even despite the Pete Davidson penis joke with Devin.
  • It is nice to see Jenn and the guys eating breakfast. They never eat dinner, so at least they get some nourishment.
  • Jenn has three guys in three distinct positions.
    • Jenn and Jonathon are on the same page.
    • Jenn loves Marcus, but he doesnโ€™t love her.
    • Devin loves Jenn, but she doesnโ€™t love him.
Men Tell All Portion
  • The Men-Tell-All is an episode I truly don’t care about at all.
  • My friend Jordyn just spoiled who gets sent home. I am not surprised.
  • Jenn had her speech for Sam M. She got her moment. We all knew that it was going to happen.
    • Sam M. did not hold himself well. It was bad showing.
      • Hope he doesnโ€™t go on the beach.
  • Jonathon commenting on Jennโ€™s dresses was yet another smooth move.
  • Jonathon and Hakeem are the first two to get invites to the beach.
    • Very excited to have Hakeem on the beach. His personality and facial expressions once again stole the show, much like they did when he was on The Bachelorette itself.
      • They had Hakeemโ€™s face up the entire time during that Mormon reality pretty great show preview. Very smart by the producers.
        • The fact my wife said she might watch that show had me shocked, but it is a world that we know absolutely nothing about.
          • We are now in the world where TV shows are being made from Tik Tok trends.
  • Grant Ellis did his thing as the next Bachelor, and he did it well.
    • I do like how after Jonathon and Grant were brought out on stage, they joined the other guys.
  • Jeremy continued to win support with his Mean Girls joke about Sam M. and how much he obsessed with Devin.
  • The bloopers were actually pretty funny. Jonathan farting right before the big-time rose ceremony was totally unexpected. Also, the guy vomitting right in front of Jeremy during an interview.
  • We all know that Jenn is going to propose to Devin, right?
  • It does appear that Jennโ€™s family is going to ask tough questions.
    • Her brother looks like he could be 65 years oldโ€”tough beat.
  • The men-tell-all is never one of my favorite episodes. Itโ€™s a heavy phone scroll episode.

(MY) POWER RANKINGS

No. 2
Marcus

(Last Week 3)

The man needs therapy, and if he gets proposed to at the end of this, then he is going to have extra things to talk about just because it is something he is not used to whatsoever. The man swims in his own head and does more laps than a goldfish in a tiny bowl.

No. 1
Devin

(Last Week 1)

Devin struggles this week stem from the fact he is an extrovert. This week, when the guys are barely hanging out with one-another, Devin has no one to talk to but himself, which has led to the biggest disaster.

The Bachelorette finale airs next Tuesday, and it will be THREE HOURS LONG. Too long.
