Fundraiser For FightCRC
It’s safe to say that cancer does not discriminate. It hits those who are least expecting it and those who deserve it least.

I have been giving updates on my journey through cancer since I was diagnosed back in early May with Stage IV Adenocarcinoma in my stomach and liver.
One of the first individuals I talked to about how to deal with being diagnosed and living with cancer is a fellow Barstool employee, Markham Rollins. Markham has been living with Stage IV Colon Cancer since March of 2023. He has worked through 21 rounds of chemo and undergone one major surgery.
Markham provided invaluable context and advice for me when I first talked to him. He has lived through the diagnosis process, and he has worked his way back to being an invaluable employee at our mutual company, Barstool Sports.
Looking back to the first time we talked, Markham’s advice about patience, self-acceptance, and the establishment of new patterns has opened up many different avenues of personal growth for me.
Last week, Markham sent a message through work slack channels, and I asked if I could share it here. He has begun a fundraiser for Fight CRC to combat colon cancer. I ask you to please read his words below, and if you can, help Markham out on his mission to meet and pass his goal.

My journey began in March of 2023 with a Stage IV Colon Cancer diagnosis. At a random ER visit, the Dr. ordered a CT, which discovered tumors in my lungs. After a few visits, they determined the cancer began in my colon. Since then, I have undergone 21 rounds of chemo and one major surgery. I’m happy to report that I’ve been off chemo since March, and my scans have been looking good.
It’s no secret that golf has played a pivotal role in my cancer journey. I wanted to design something (with lots of input from my designer friends as I mainly code all day 😃) that would represent what it meant to me, which I can wear as a reminder. I feel incredibly fortunate that I did not have to give golf up this past year. Though I may not have been able to hit the ball as far and got tired sooner, it provided an outlet for stress, was a welcome distraction, has been a mental health reset, and is always a fun activity for me to share with my wife/family/friends.
Back in March, I was honored to attend the Cologuard Classic and learn more about the CRC (Colorectal Cancer) community. At that time, I decided to do more: help raise awareness among others in the community and begin advocating. After looking into various avenues to do this, I applied to be an ambassador for Fight CRC for 2025 and was selected!
I look forward to sharing my journey. As a start, I am selling a run of hats with the emblem, after which I will donate all the net proceeds. Fight CRC uses these donations to advance research, advocate for policy change, support patients, educate about the disease, and conduct awareness campaigns. Please take some time to read more about Fight CRC and find out if your risk by taking their screening quiz.
If interested, here is a form where you can order hats, learn more about my journey and who Fight CRC is (I’m manually putting them together for now which does seem funny). All net proceeds are being donated.
The first $3500 raised is being matched $ for $ by a generous anonymous donor!
The current age for colonoscopy screenings is 45, but this disease is increasingly targeting younger and younger people, such as myself. Fight CRC has been heavily involved in advocating for change and helping those who get diagnosed at an early age through their Early Onset Colorectal Cancer Workgroup.

Cancer is not fun. No one is going to argue that. But cancer can teach us things about ourselves and others. I have learned that Markham is an inspiring warrior against cancer. The energy that he has approached his recovery with is infectious (maybe not the best word choice, but it fits). Markham’s outlook on life has already been influential for me in the short time I’ve been diagnosed, so I again ask that if you have the means, please help Markham with his fundraiser, where all proceeds will be donated.
If you have any questions, please reach out to me, or if you are a Barstool Sports employee, feel free to reach out to Markham on Slack.

There is a lot happening in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning. One could argue that there is too much going on.
Much maligned as the worst of the Mission: Impossible franchise, Mission: Impossible II doesn’t do itself any favors upon rewatch.
