• I am completing my stream-of-consciousness thoughts on all the “Halo” episodes only because I am a completionist. If you read this, then you are a crazy person.
  • Do I remember where I am in the show?
    • No, not at all. Only that the humans are really fucked up. The Covenant is winning.
  • I wonder why the show was canceled because season two is way better than season one. I do remember this.
  • Episode seven is called “Thermopylae”. This has to reference the big battle between the Persians and the Greeks, right?
  • Thank god we have a “previously on” recap
    • I forgot that Kai kind of ran away with Ackerson.
    • I do not remember that Kwan met with Dr. Miranda Keyes
  • Master Chief and Makee are having a moment because they just touched the artifact.
    • I remember not enjoying this daydreaming cross-talking aspect from the first season.
  • The Arbiter is with Makee. They are on a mission that’s kind of fuck the covenant.
  • Makee has found the Halo.
    • She says the ring belongs to Master Chief and Makee.
      • But she sees the difference…Master Chief doesn’t believe while she does.
  • We have some alien vs. alien fighting going on.
  • A certain preist is following Makee, but Cortana comes to save the day, distracting him.
  • As the theme song plays, I guess I should get back to playing the Halo games.
    • When I first got diagnosed with cancer, I bought the Master Chief Collection on Steam and beat the first two games in no time.
      • It’s not my first time playing through them all; they are just games I enjoy.
        • I never did play Halo 5. Halo 4 could have been better.
  • The Admiral is in charge, and she is threatening Ackerson about finding Master Chief because otherwise, the disaster on Reach,
    • Ackerson does not like being talked down to by the Admiral.
  • Some police force is approaching Master Chief….and people just aren’t responding the orders to shoot him.
    • No shit. They respect Master Chief. Not this random police officer.
  • Ahhh, Kai is now on the good guy’s team again.
  • Dr. Catherine Halsey and Kwan are in the same room with Miranda Keyes…I do not remember this. All of this is foreign to me.
    • What are these notes you are comparing?
    • These doors opening once contained DNA…theirs and ours. What do “theirs” refer too?
  • Well, all of the Spartans that the Admiral sent in got wiped out, so Ackerson’s pet project is getting fucked up.
    • The Spartan 3s are going to be destroyed.
  • Oh, we are back with Soren and Laera now. They are looking for their son (named Kessler), who they believe was taken by the UNSC?
    • Soren having flashbacks to when he was taken.
    • Kessler’s parents won’t save him tonight. He needs a night to find out who he is.
      • Laera does not like this idea one bit. Nope, not one bit.
  • This entire episode seems rushed. It seems I missed something, but perhaps it’s because I have forgotten a lot in the five months since I watched the show.
  • We had a meeting with Talia, the marine with whom Master Chief has a connection. She is part of the Spartans, who are going to be annihilated.
  • Master Chief is on the same ship as Ackerson…didn’t know that. Or forgot that.
    • He wants his armor back. He is going to get it back.
  • What is this “Spike” that Ackerson is talking about?
    • It is going to blow up everything.
      • The battle for the Halo will be won by the humans or by no one at all. That seems to be the Admiral’s plan.
  • Ohhh, Dr. Miranda Keyes finding out about her dad’s sacrifice.
    • That was a good episode.
  • It would appear that Kwan has the ability to open this door that Keyes is so interested in? Or something that piques Halsey’s eyes.
  • Ackerson suddenly asking Master Chief, “What are we going to do?” really upsets me. That is a massive character switch. I am not a fan.
    • Master Chief demands that Ackerson tell everyone what Admiral Margaret Parangosky did, plus himself. And the proof in the pudding is that Master Chief is still alive, and that’s why Ackerson can be trusted.
  • Kwan’s puzzle-solving venture with the wall of mystery leads to a clock analogy.
    • This is meant to be an uplifting moment with “Rainmaker” music, but I am bored, and all I want is action.
      • Where the hell has Kwan seen it before? Someone fill me in from my own memory holes.
    • Ah, the door has opened. It did indeed take less than four months, as Keyes said.
  • Master Chief admits that the admiral is right that Halo can not be entrusted to anyone, which puts him and Kai on separate paths.
    • Kai is going to save the Spartans that are being sent to slaughter while Master Chief goes on his own mission of grandeur.
  • Lots of switching back and forth between characters and plot points this episode.
    • We are suddenly back with Kwan and company. The door they opened led to a lab with a scientist in it, but they had to vacate the premises quickly.
      • The scientist was dead, but he had something in his hand that Keyes took.
      • I suppose there was an entire city behind the door and underneath the walkway. That seems like a lot.
  • Jesus, now we are back with Makee…and she is branding herself??
    • The Arbiter is bound to Makee; she says they are bound to The Ring.
  • And after saying that his son needed to go through this UNSC child torture-type beating, Soren suddenly has a change of heart.
    • Kessler doesn’t like what he say from his dad, but Soren did it anyway.
    • Laera and Kessler were taken away somewhere. But Soren doesn’t seem to know where?
  • Master Chief reunites with Talia.
    • She is shocked that he is alive.
    • She is upset that Master Chief is not going with them.
  • This is not a good episode. It is bouncing back and forth everywhere.
    • This may be reading into it, but perhaps they received a tap on the shoulder that they should hurry things up.
  • Master Chief walking through the ship in his armor is causing people to gawk.
    • He has commandeered a ship. He is taking off.
  • And there we have it, the ring in space.
  • That was a badly constructed and paced episode of television.
  • Only one more episode to go.
