- Alright, last episode was a filler episode. It had some emotional beats, but in terms of plot development, it took a backseat. It was more about pushing forward the Master Chief, Kwan and Riz storylines.
- Oh, that’s right, there is the whole Makee and the Covenant warrior
- And the searching by Laera and Soren for their son.
- This episode is called “Onyx”
- We begin with Perez taking part on a space jump to attack something
- Just jumping out to face a Covenant ship seems like a really bad idea.
- There are these sort of bombs that create an avenue between space and the hull of the ship.
- Those are kinda cool.
- Who is this that is leading Perez on this attack?
- Last name of Mullins.
- Oh no, well Mullins died.
- Last name of Mullins.
- Oh, well this was an exercise. This is not real.
- Kai is leading this lesson for the UNSC soldiers.
- Kai giving exposition that there is a Spike Virus they can input into the Covenant ship
- Isn’t this basically how the Independence Day final showdown was.
- Kai is talking down to Perez.
- Perez poking the bear with Kai, saying how she is jealous that Perez was on Reach and survived and Kai wasn’t.
- Kai giving exposition that there is a Spike Virus they can input into the Covenant ship
- Perez is going to be a Spartan.
- Ackerson and former Admiral Margaret Parangosky getting cozy telling stories over tea.
- These poeple are part of ONI
- The concept of Reach, and the public perception of it. ONI putting the spin cycle on.
- Parangosky is letting Ackerson know that she is hearing that Master Chief and Halsey are alive, and on the planet that ONI is hiding out in.
- I did finish the first Halo campaign (again) on the Steamdeck. I have begun playing Halo 2. If I recall, I did not love Halo 2 compared to the others. But regardless I am going to play through it.
- Ackerson and Kai having a conversation about Reach.
- Kai has no idea why they weren’t there on Reach.
- Ackerson is still convinced that Master Chief is dead.
- Why do I feel as if we are going to get a Murdock moment from Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985).
- The idea of making spartans is still important to the war, but Kai seems adamant that no one can ever be a Master Chief.
- This planet of Onyx seems to be a bit of a mystery.
- Kwan is running away from soldiers of Oni while Master Chief is taking down the bad guys…in the woods…
- This is becoming a lot like Rambo.
- Master Chief seems to have gotten himself caught on purpose.
- Soren comes to the realization that Kessler (their son) was brought to Onyx to become a Spartan. But will he tell his wife?
- Kwan just jumped down a well, and that is where Halsey is.
- What is in this well?
- Halsey and Kwan are having a conversation now.
- Alright, this Covenant warrior is back on our screen. Still don’t really remember his name or purpose.
- There is a priest who is asking questions about what exactly this ship he is on is doing.
- Remember that Makee and this alien friend disobeyed the High Charity and embarked on their own mission.
- There is a priest who is asking questions about what exactly this ship he is on is doing.
- Oh, hello Cortana. Calling Makee a liar in regards to being able to communicate with the Artifact. The idea of her being a chosen one.
- Perez is now taking control of this simulation from Mullins.
- Perez’s more aggressive tactics in the simulation has her take control over from Mullins, for at least a short spell.
- Perez notes that after successful spiking, there were no enemies to fight. She wanted realism.
- Master Chief is now in custody.
- He gave this security guard a warning that he was coming.
- He starts to make his presence known right away. He beats up on the guards with the chains that were meant to keep him contained.
- He gave this security guard a warning that he was coming.
- Ackerson is showing Kai the footage from the prison brawl beat-em-up.
- Ackerson is giving Kai a spin cycle. He makes Kai begin to doubt Master Chief’s loyalty to the cause.
- Ackerson saying out loud that Makee and Master Chief are working together.
- This is some master gaslighting by Ackerson.
- Ackerson saying out loud that Makee and Master Chief are working together.
- Ackerson is giving Kai a spin cycle. He makes Kai begin to doubt Master Chief’s loyalty to the cause.
- Ackerson makes the point known that the covenant has one artifact, and Ackerson has the second one.
- Well here we have Makee beginning to get upset because she is losing her power. She feels as if she is being punished.
- Makee says that there is a change in the relationship between Makee and Master Chief.
- Well here we have Makee beginning to get upset because she is losing her power. She feels as if she is being punished.
- Master Chief is just roaming around an office-like building? No security guards chasing him? How did he just walk out of the room?
- He is seeing posters of his demise being used as propaganda.
- And now he can just get into a hologram of the station no problem and begin looking for secured zones.
- Master Chief and Kai having face-to-face.
- Kai has to bring Master Chief in because she has orders.
- Is this going to be a fight.
- One with armor and one without.
- Kai puts on her helmet and has all the power of her suit. Doesn’t seem like a very good fight.
- Master Chief trying to be philosophical while Kai is beating the fuck out of him and telling him to stay on the ground.
- “Where does the Spartan end, Kai”
- Is this going to be a fight.
- Master Chief is like a Russian bouncing doll. One of those things that just won’t stay down.
- Kai has to bring Master Chief in because she has orders.
- Ackerson now dejected looking at the camera footage while Parangosky is trying to talk to him about why it was necessary for him to do what he has.
- There is an encrypted message, and UNSC communications may have been compromised.
- Why does Parangosky want the room?
- Oh, so she can talk to Cortana.
- Are we going to have two simultaneous conversations with Cortana? One with JOhn and one with Parangosky?
- What is this terrible thing that Cortana is saying is going to happen.
- The Covenant is going to find the Halo and use it, so Master Chief needs to get there first.
- What is this terrible thing that Cortana is saying is going to happen.
- Why does Parangosky want the room?
- I WILL REMEMBER THAT THE ARBITER IS THE NAME COVENANT WARRIOR WITH MAKEE.
- Cortana tells Master Chief he has to touch the artifact.
- There is a double conversation with Cortana. She has completed her task for Parangosky.
- Cortana is a spy within the Covenant? It’s like Parangosky and her agreed to have Cortana become a confidant for Makee in order to spread information.
- Wherever Halsey and Kwan are walking….there are people now.
- Oh, so we have Dr. Miranda Keyes. First time we have seen her this season?
- What are they digging up here?
- What mistake is it that Keyes discovered that Halsey overlooked?
- Oh, so we have Dr. Miranda Keyes. First time we have seen her this season?
- Back with Soren and Laera.. Soren can sense people coming.
- Kai is accusing Ackerson of manipulating the simulation with the Spartan trainees to make it easier.
- The fact that there was such an easy evac during the successful practice spiking makes it seem as if the spike mission is a suicide one.
- Kai now calls out Ackerson for knowing about Reach and not doing anything by choice.
- Kai now knows the real deal.
- Ackerson has sent black ops to go after Master Chief, who is currently going to find the Artifact with the help of Cortana opening up doors and disabling security protocols.
- Makee is in trouble being pinned between a Priest who doesn’t trust her and the Arbiter who is dealing with his own shame and doubts.
- Will the Arbiter choose Makee or the Priest.
- Well, the Arbiter has chosen Makee.
- The priest and all of his minions are being slain.
- Well, the Arbiter has chosen Makee.
- Will the Arbiter choose Makee or the Priest.
- Makee and John both touch the artifact at the same time….which ends the episode.
- There are parallel story lines about trust; Makee and the Arbiter, Kai and Ackerson, Cortana and fucking everyone.
