QUICK THOUGHTS ON THE EPISODE

Women Tell All Portion
  • To be honest, I am not a very big fan of the Women Tell All episode. It always tends to devolve into screaming matches and itโ€™s not very often that many people come off well.
    • You remember when Katie Thurston did her speech on the Men Tell All episode? That plummeted her approval rating to a low number, from which many would say she has never recovered.
  • This Women Tell All can be divided into two parts.
    • The good part, and the bad part.
      • The good portion of this episode is the final hour.
      • The bad portion of this episode is the first hour.
  • Over the course of the show there are snippets backstage of Joey just doing things shirtless. For some reason, the producers thought that this would be a good idea.
    • It is undeniable that this grabbed everyoneโ€™s attention.
  • The show starts out with Jesse Palmer and Joey crashing some viewing parties of The Bachelor show.
    • Joey doesnโ€™t seem all too enthused, and he is very awkward entering the spaces. With that being said, the ladies love him and he does his best to be a gracious guest. His awkwardness is endearing.
      • Joey and Jesse also have a good bit about the safe words. It has a decent payoff in the end.
    • I would have really loved this if those parties visited were actually shocked by Joeyโ€™s arrival. Imagine the screams then.
  • When it comes down to the introductions, everyone gets a round of applause. But with that being said, the winner of the applause is Maria. She basically gets a standing ovation.
  • All of the topic points one would expect are covered, and some have delightful results and others are remarkably boring.
    • The biggest loser of this screaming match is Lea, without a doubt.
      • There is a portion of the back-and-forth that brings Lea to tears.
        • The majority of the women did not like the way Lea was approaching her reasoning for her actions.
          • They didnโ€™t love the talk about the note she burned. They said that it was like a โ€œperformanceโ€
            • A great point was raised that in that moment, the first episode, Lea said she was a girlโ€™s girl who liked to boost other women up.
              • In predictable fashion, she archives the opposite and manages to make a lot of enemies.
          • What really got underneath everyoneโ€™s skin was rehashing her talking to Madina.
            • Madina and Lexi combine to make the outstanding point that friends can be different and have different opinions. A revelatory concept!
        • Itโ€™s after all the arguments we see her walk off. The camera follows her and she is emotional. Then the camera backstage follows her on stage and you can hear the public address announcer counting down on the stage.
          • It was a cool little behind the scenes thing.
      • I really, really didnโ€™t like how Maria ran to give Lea a hug. Canโ€™t we agree that sometimes we donโ€™t need to hug it out?
        • This felt forced by Maria.
    • Lauren, the first sister who went home, gets a solid moment when she admits that she is the one who said โ€œShut the fuck up!โ€. It was not Maria, as so many people thought.
    • Jess is also a big-time loser. The biggest next to Lea.
      • Jess gets called out by Edwina for just not liking Maria.
        • When Jess asks why she is making assumptions, Edwina snaps right back and says that she saw it and she felt it. She lived there with them.
          • Damning.ย
    • Lexi gets first one-on-one time in the hot seat.
      • Lexi essentially calls Joey a saint? A massive kudos to Joey because the impression you left on Lexi was perfect.
      • A good line that Lexi has is that Joey set the bar remarkably high for the next person she dates.
        • Perhaps the highest compliment one could pay.
    • Jenn gets time in the hot seat.
      • She doesnโ€™t really say anything of significance.
    • Maria is the third to get in the hot seat.
      • This is the one everyone has been waiting for.
      • She makes a joke about her dad not over it yet.
        • A solid way to just get a good chuckle to start.
      • Jesse teases up a PSA segment where Maria states that all the hate Sydney and Lea have been getting is too much.
        • This leads to another hug-filled segment.
        • So now everyone is Kumbaya.
  • Rachel gets to come on the show after having been eliminated.
    • She is wearing the same type of dress she has been wearing for the whole show.
    • When Joey comes out to talk with Rachel, she has the great joke about if he enjoyed watching that video.
    • Rachel also has a great moment when she said that it was nice to see Joey upset after breaking up with her. SHe said that made her feel better.
      • Listen, I love the honesty. Every second of it. Have to find the comedy in it.
    • The ending of Rachelโ€™s time on the couch is more heartfelt.
      • Rachel talks about the hate she has been getting and racist comments.
        • This is bad. We donโ€™t like this.
        • There is a weird thing Jesse does. He asks the women how many have gotten hateful messages and they raise their hands.
          • This just seemed rather unnecessary. I donโ€™t know.ย ย
  • We do finally get some Kelsey T. time and she says that the relationship between her and her dad is getting a lot better.
    • This is very nice to hear.
  • Time for bloopers!
    • Honestly, this segment ruled. It was awesome, good fun.
    • Rachelโ€™s impersonation of Joey is fantastic.
    • I never realized how many times Jen said things were pretty.
    • Classic bug hating segments.
    • Joey has a great one with eating all of the macaroons during Maria and his one-on-one date.
    • There is some AI voice work that has Jesse teasing Joey about tennis.
      • This one I found a bit weird. But not everyone could be a winner.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย
Show Portion
  • Kelsey Note
    • Kesley, I say this in the most politeful way, but you dumb bitch.
    • WHEN YOU LEAVE ANYONE A NOT SAYING โ€œWE NEED TO TALKโ€, THE OTHER PERSON IS GOING TO ASSUME THE WORST.
    • I think everyone would agree that Kelsey went a tad bit overboard here.
      • She basically says that she misses Joey. And she had to be honest with him and say that being on The Bachelor is hard.
        • This is not worth almost killing Joey for. I mean this. I donโ€™t think Joey could have held his breath any longer.
          • People who have received notes like this before could see the fear in Joeyโ€™s eyes when he opened the door for her.
    • Kelsey, girl, need I remind you that there was two hours difference in time when it came to footage of you on the security tapesโ€ฆand you simply wrote โ€œWe Need To Talk.โ€
    • Kesley does feel bad for what she has done.
  • Rose Ceremony
    • Time for a remarkably predictable rose ceremony.
      • Kelsey is the only one who gets an extended walk in.
        • And Kelsey looks REMARKABLE. Letโ€™s be honest. She looks stunning.
      • Daisy is wearing a pretty dress but her hair looks great.
      • And Rachel is wearing the same type of dress she always does.
      • Rachel gets sent home.
        • This is what everyone saw coming. She did not, so she is sad. The breakup on the bench is heartfelt. Itโ€™s just said all around.
      • For the record, I think this rose ceremony was edited very weirdly. A of waist up shots. I feel as if the order in which Kelsey and Daisy got their roses was actually reverse. I think Kelsey got the first.

(MY) POWER RANKINGS

No. 2
Daisy

(Last Week 2)

No change from last week because we didn’t see much of Daisy this week. She looked good in her blue dress, but she may be feeling blue next week when Joey picks Kelsey A.

No. 1
Kelsey A.

(Last Week 1)

Kelsey A., we all make mistakes. It happens. We all just hope that you have learned your lesson. Part of me also believes that your not fully to blame for the note and its contents. The producers just need to a little bit of doubt before the finale.

The Bachelor airs on Monday nights on ABC, beginning at 8 PM EST.
