- We are onto episode three
- This episode is called “Visegard”
- Here are things I remember:
- Master Chief and company are going to a base called Sword where the Covenant have just laid waste to UNSC.
- Makee is still alive.
- We got more Kwan and there was no Soren.
- Ackerson is a bitch and Halsey is being kept alive in this purgatory simulator thing.
- Not a great start to this episode…and it’s purely because of the visuals. The first minutes of this episode are very dark and I am watching it on my phone and it is not making for an easy viewing experience.
- I know part of this is my own fault…but I can’t help it.
- Before the intro the Spartans crest the hill and BAM…there is the static. So it begins.
- Sidenote, I am playing Halo though now on the Steam Deck and I must say that the first Halo is not holding up as well the first couple times I played it.
- There is a lot of playing, then retracing the same areas you went through just backwards.
- Back to the episode, there is a sudden pulse and static when the SIlver Team turns back on the power.
- There is a pounding door slamming back and forth, and it’s in sync with a woman tapping her finger on a desk.
- Who is this woman?
- Wait…who is this woman now?
- Who the fuck is FLEETCOM? Where did they come from?
- Alright, I didn’t like this. They embark on a mission, but then get taken off by a surprising team appearing out of nowhere.
- Who the fuck is FLEETCOM? Where did they come from?
- Wait…who is this woman now?
- Who is this woman?
- There is a pounding door slamming back and forth, and it’s in sync with a woman tapping her finger on a desk.
- Ackerson is helping his father, who is going senile, but remembers something that he shouldn’t that Ackerson told him.
- Ackerson’s dad built a bridge. That’s symbolic. Ackerson is trying to create his own bridge in his new position.
- This is an attempt to humanize Ackerson.
- Really happens when the senile dad asks about Ackerson’s sister and turns out that she is dead.
- Is she actually dead? Or is she the random woman with the headphones?
- Really happens when the senile dad asks about Ackerson’s sister and turns out that she is dead.
- AND we are back in front of Admiral Keyes and he is blasting Master Chief for going outside the chain.
- This is a lot of back and forth.
- There is a flight path team with Cobalt going to a different planet…not Visegrad.
- Is the team starting to distrust John?
- Now the admiral is saying John must go through a psychiatric evaluation.
- Remember when Ackerson talked to Kai last episode about if John can be trusted…well it would appear that Kai is starting to lose that trust.
- Who is this blond woman on this pirate planet?
- She knows Kwan.
- Ruby Ann bought off the crew.
- Kwan seems to know that Soren’s family is next to be taken out. And we still don’t know what’s happened to Soren.
- Ruby Ann bought off the crew.
- I don’t like the blond suddenly grabbing the drink. That seems a little cliched.
- She knows Kwan.
- Alright, time for routine psych eval
- Master Chief knocks out the two guards watching him.
- He also grabbed something out of his locker that looked like a USB.
- And we have a gay relationship in Halo, one that the blind trainer is in.
- Riz is joining them for dinner.
- She is asking about a career after Spartanhood.
- Riz is joining them for dinner.
- Kai is now talking to Ackerson trying to defend Master Chief.
- She is willing to take command of the Silver Team while Master Chief is sidelined.
- Now we learn that John has escaped the facility.
- Ackerson saying the line “sometimes people don’t get better” hits a bit differently after the scene with his father.
- Well that’s effective. We can only hope that they pay off the father storyline.
- She is willing to take command of the Silver Team while Master Chief is sidelined.
- We are getting the backstory of Kwan Ha.
- She feels disappointment and disdain for letting down Madrigal.
- Kwan is helping Soren’s family escape before the crew of Soren’s ship does something.
- We are going to get dramatic ship leaving the premises before the door closes.
- Oh, we aren’t. This is actually something surprising.
- I now finally know that Laera is her name, Soren’s wife.
- She is giving Kessler to Kwan to run away and get on the transport shit.
- We are going to get dramatic ship leaving the premises before the door closes.
- Back to Admiral Keyes and would you look at that, Cobalt team is dead.
- Ackerson is saying Cobalt team is MIA…there are no bodies.
- BRO, the bodies are right there!
- Ackerson is saying Cobalt team is MIA…there are no bodies.
- What the fuck is the Winter Contingency?
- Ackerson says it’s too late to evacuate.
- He says they are going to fight but they aren’t going to win.
- Ackerson is willing to sacrifice Reach.
- Admiral Keyes is not going to run.
- “Go fuck yourself.” – Oh that’s nice!
- Admiral Keyes is not going to run.
- Ackerson is willing to sacrifice Reach.
- He says they are going to fight but they aren’t going to win.
- Ackerson says it’s too late to evacuate.
- We know where Master Chief is. He is with the former Admiral, Margaret Parangosky
- John is telling her that the Covenant is on Reach.
- ONI knows and they are covering it up.
- Oh Admiral….John has already made an enemy out of ONI.
- ONI knows and they are covering it up.
- John is asking Margaret i she ever left ONI.
- Doesn’t appear she has seeing how bodyguards led John pass after their meeting.
- John is telling her that the Covenant is on Reach.
- And now we have Ackerson with Halsey.
- There is a lot of jumping around this episode.
- Ackerson is coming to say goodbye.
- Halsey asking if Ackerson wants to know how Julia died…
- Well, this is a twist. Can we see Halsey twist the knife? Are we actually rooting for Halsey here? I think we are. This is a credit to Ackerson that he has become more detestable than Halsey.
- Halsey asking if Ackerson wants to know how Julia died…
- It would appear that Soren is joining Halsey in this prison.
- This should be interesting.
- What is this ticking out that is on Soren’s ship that is going off while Laera is being questioned.
- The opportunistic crew is asking about Soren’s stashed treasure…which there probably isn’t?
- There are a lot of tense relationships on this ship.
- Is Kwan or Kessler making that sound?
- Laera is going to be killedm but instead it’s this captain.
- Ah yes, it would appear that Kwan has taken matters into her own hands.
- Okay, this quieter, killer version of Kwan is much better.
- She left Kessler on the transport ship.
- Ah yes, it would appear that Kwan has taken matters into her own hands.
- The opportunistic crew is asking about Soren’s stashed treasure…which there probably isn’t?
- Ackerson is killing his own father.
- Well he tried to have him take his own poison pill…but then Ackerson had to put it in his mouth.
- The hologram girl who kept on dying with Halsey is actually Julia.
- John is now meeting with Corporal Perez.
- We have a sign of catholicism in the Halo universe. Can’t remember this in the show at all.
- Oh, it would appear that John is getting validation that Makee is still alive.
- Corporal Perez is giving John the recording from Sanctuary.
- There is something underneath.
- Sangheili language is a prayer.
- I bring you blessings, the people of reach, Know that I’ve come without mercy. Without pity. Know that I am the instrument of your extinction. I bring this planet forth as a burnt offering. Upon this altar, I place the head of the Demon. May his blood mark the way to the sacred ring, and consecrate the great journey of my people. Know that I am Var’Gatanai. Know that I am death.
- Sangheili language is a prayer.
- There is something underneath.
- So we end with this ominous prayer and then an explosion outside. Good cliffhanger to a rather dull episode at large.
