“Twenty-five years after the original series of murders in Woodsboro, a new killer emerges, and Sidney Prescott must return to uncover the truth.”

First things first, they updated the tagline for Scream (2022). There is a new killer coming to town, that is confirmed.
The trailer just begins with some teenagers dying and Dewey Riley (David Arquette) explaining for those who aren’t aware that Ghost Face is killing again. Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox) are getting the news and seem to be taking it upon themselves to solve the murderous solution.
The first noticeable thing of the trailer is the metallic mask that appears around the 20 second mark and it also is the inspiration for that this latest trailer is called. This entire 30 second TV spot-esq trailer is knife sounds, thrashing and killing. Standard fanfare for a slasher horror. We get to hear from the stars (old and new) for the last two minutes of the trailer
The executive producer Kevin Williamson says that this story is going to blend the older generation of Scream franchise with the new crop of stars. Melissa Barrera, who plays the lead role of Sam Carpenter, talks about how her character is the main target of Ghost Face. Sam has a secret that the killer knows and it is revealed that Sam knows of Dewey and is asking for his help to try and survive what is happening.
David Arquette is back as Dewey and he has not changed one bit. Still looks the exact same. He calls Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), so the gang is getting all back together. Sid seems honed in on killing Ghost Face, which reminds me of Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) being obsessed with killing Michael Myers in the reboot of Halloween (2018).
In the preview we also get to hear from Jack Quaid, who plays Richie Kirsch in Scream but is most known for Hughie Campbell from The Boys on Amazon Prime.
This trailer is just a hype-up for a January horror movie release that has not had a ton of positive pup around it. I will see this movie because I love the original, but my expectations are not very high.
This movie releases in theaters on January 14, 2022.

This is the shit I love. Chapter 18 of The Mandalorian is fantastic television and excellent Star Wars. Plenty of surprises, a bit of exposition, cool visuals and unexplained expansion of lore and stakes; all of these things make The Mines Of Mandalore a great episode of television. From the start of the episode we…
