Truly, The Holdovers is at its simplest, very pleasurable. It hits all the right notes while adding some unreal unique ticks.
Thor: Love And Thunder (2022) is Thor: Ragnarok (2017) cranked up to eleven. The director and cast are back with another adventure tinged with plenty of attempted comedy. Love And Thunder tries to amplify everything by bringing romance into the picture. Whether all the various bits, skits or decisions made work for you, well that’s what is up for subjective debate.
Shoutout to a couple of my coworkers, Stefan and Jordyn. Both of them put me onto Shiva Baby (2021) and they were both correct in saying it’s a very good movie.
Murder Mystery 2 (2023) comes across as if it’s a college student giving an oral presentation after taking enough drugs to cram all prep into one night. If we were to compare everyone involved with the making of Murder Mystery 2 to a hungover senior nearing graduation, the entire crew is quoting the classic “Cs get degrees” mantra.
The perfect plane movie. Possibly the best plane movie experience I have ever had. The Blackening (2023) is a horror comedy (released in June for some reason) that takes every single horror movie trope about black culture and characters and skewers the expected with laugh-out-loud satirical and oh shit sass-oozing wit.
Time to totally shut your brain off and enjoy a ton of mindless bloody violence. Yup, that is what Renfield (2023) is. You totally were expecting that, right?
