The MVP of Ronanโ€™s team is actually a duo. The partnership of Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb was absolutely lights out over the second half of the season, Dak finished the season as the fourth ranked fantasy quarterback and had only one dud week over the last 10 games he played. CeeDee scored single-digit points twice in the first three weeks, and then proceeded to burn every single defense he faced. Ronanโ€™s second round pick ended up being the number one fantasy wide receiver this season and made a pair of monstrous performances in the two weeks for the league championship.

Tommy Simon has finished runner-up in the league. He didnโ€™t have the most powerful or name-heavy team in the league, however general managing skills carried him nearly to the top of the championship mountain. And we have to mention how sweet it would have been if Tommy won on the final Sunday night game with the Green Bay Packers playingโ€ฆbut alas Ronan held on.

Congratulations to Ronan McClorey and Now You CeeDee, Now You Don’t!

Let’s get going, final recap of the season.

FINALS SCOREBOARD

The championship being two weeks made this matchup between Tommy and Ronan remarkably intriguing. Week 16 saw the two teams put up lackluster efforts scoring wise, but Ronan held a 24.42 point advantage.

Dak and CeeDee combined for 38.82 points and were two of three players to score more than 15 points on his team. Fellow NFC East player Dโ€™Andre Swift had 15.2 points against the New York Giants on Christmas Day to help Ronan jump out to a lead. God knows that you canโ€™t trust the Kansas City Chiefs; both Rashee Rice and Travis Kelce had single-digit points output. Hell, even Deebo Samuel had just 7.4 points against the Baltimore Ravens.

I am sure that Tommy had a lovely Christmas Day, but he canโ€™t have gone to bed all that happy seeing that Brock Purdy scored just 2.4 points against the Baltimore Ravens. An absolutely gross performance. To make matters worse, he sat Lamar Jackson who scored 22.58 points against the 49ers defense. Itโ€™s okay Tommy, we will move on.

After one week of the championship, Ronan McClorey lead Tommy Simon 114.62 – 90.2

Oh what a fucking exciting week 17! It came down to the wire, down to the final game on the final day! Outstanding stuff. Thank you fantasy football gods.

Does Ronan feel like how the Dallas Cowboys felt against the Detroit Lions? Now You CeeDee, Now You Donโ€™t wins the game, wins the title for that matter, but by the skin of his chinny chin chin. I know i am digging deep here and Ronan is reading this going โ€œI fucking won, I donโ€™t care.โ€ but I am just just trying to draw a correlation between his team and the Dallas Cowboys.

CeeDee Lamb was a ram on Saturday scoring 33.7 points against the Detroit Lions. It was CeeDeeโ€™s second 30+ point game this season and second highest scoring game of the season. And good lord did Ronan need it. Dโ€™Andre Swift and Austin Ekeler scored a combined 10.6 points, and Travis Kelce scored only 3.1 points. Deebo and Rashee each had 15+ scoring outputs and even Brandon Aubrey got double-digits. Ronan needed every single point his team could muster because Tommy came back with a fury and vengeance.

Lamar Jackson, the new frontrunner for MVP in the NFL, took the Miami Dolphins and tossed them onto the beach and let the defense suffer in the sun. 36.34 fantasy points was Jacksonโ€™s best game of the season and over the course of the last two weeks he had a combined 59.02 points. Thankfully for Ronanโ€™s sake, Tommy only had Lamar going in week 17.

The thrill of this fantasy championship came late on Sunday. Harrison Butker had 24 points from the fucking kicking position for the Kansas City Chiefs. The team from Arrowhead may not be very good, but they have a flair for the dramatic every week and it added to the stress of the Reeeeeem Championship. Then it comes down to Sunday night and Tommy has the added pressure of a title on the line and his actual favorite team trying to lock down a playoff spot. The Packers took care of business, but Aaaron Jones and Romeo Doubs came up JUST short on the fantasy side. Seeing Doubs score just 4.3 points hurts. Hurts big time.

Tommy outscored Ronan 145.04 to 124.8 in week 17, but in the end he fell to his Packer-hating nemesis, 239.42 to 235.24.

  • Tommy Simon’s leading scorer for the championship was Lamar Jackson, and he only played him one of the two weeks.
  • A rightful champion is Ronan because he had the Most Total Team Points as well.
  • T-Si actually outperformed his expectations more so than Ronan. The spunky underdog did give his best effort.
  • T-Si smoked Ronan in regard to Running Back Points, but Ronan almost doubled up Tommy in terms of Wide Receivers.
  • Harrison Butker had one point in week 16 for Tommy, but then erupted for 24 in week 17.
  • Ronan was without Raheem Mostert in week 17, a top fantasy RB this season. Definitely impacted his running back scoring.
  • Credit to Ronan for getting the best rookie QB in CJ Stroud, and also stashing Justin Fields on his bench to never use him.
Final Transaction Counter
Tommy had the most acquisitions this season and Ronan tied for second most with myself. Ronan had players on the IR the most.

“Congrats to Ronan on winning the championship! Not starting Lamar in the first week will haunt me for the entire off-season, but I’m really proud of our team. We got into the playoffs in the last week of the regular season, made it all the way to the championship, but just came up short. We will work hard this off-season and hopefully have a chance to win it all next season!

Until next year…
