The Oscars needs a shakeup. I am not the first to say it, and I will not be the last.
Besides the most obvious answer of making all the votes transparent (so we can who finishes first-second-third-, ect.), we just need to add some new categories.
Here is one I wish they would add that is completely subjective: The Best Movie Scene.
Here are my ground rules.
- Confined to one moment. In one place at one time.
- Scene must be over two minutes long.
- It has to stop you in your tracks. A scene that you pull on YouTube or have to watch if ti comes on TV.
- This scene is indicative of the movie as a whole. Much like how actors can be nominated for not great movies, if this scene works, then it has a chance to get nominated.
- Goosebumps…more the better.
