Amsterdam (2022) looks to be a a crime, mystery, comedy thriller that follows the characters being played by Margot Robbie, Christian Bale and John David Washington as they uncover a sinister and massive plot none of them expected. The members of this trio all have unique quirks, as do all the different cast of characters that this trailer shows off.
Christian Bale is with O. Russell for the third time; The Fighter (2010) and American Hustle (2013). Robert De Niro returns for the fourth time: Silver Linings Playbook (2012), uncredited in American Hustle (2013), and Joy (2015) being his previous. John David Washington continues his meteoric rise to superstardom with good fortune getting to replace Michael B. Jordan after the film was delayed due to COVID. Margot Robbie is returning to award contending movies after her success as Harley Quinn. I love Anya Taylor-Joy so I will watch her in whatever she is in. I am hoping that Zoe Saldana gets more screen time and a better movie than her mini appearance in The Adam Project (2022). Rami Malek and Michael Shannon draw your eyes in whatever they are in, so together…why not?? And hey, Michael Myers and…TAYLOR SWIFT!!! Yes, that does make me happier and more excited to see it.
So everyone is in this? Like, the world? I did not know that David O. Russell had that pull.
This is O. Russell’s first major motion picture since Joy, which was not his best received work thus far. Should also notice how Jennifer Lawrence is not in Amsterdam. Lawrence could use a pick-me-up movie after her legacy in the X-Men franchise took a major hit and Don’t Look Up (2021) was not good (in my estimation), even though she was the best past of it.
Amsterdam comes to theaters on November 4, 2022. This better not be no trick when this comes out, because we need some treats as we head into the award season.

There is a lot happening in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning. One could argue that there is too much going on.
Much maligned as the worst of the Mission: Impossible franchise, Mission: Impossible II doesn’t do itself any favors upon rewatch.
