“A divorced couple that teams up and travels to Bali to stop their daughter from making the same mistake they think they made 25 years ago.”

Director: OI Parker
Writers: OI Parker, Daniel Pipski
Staring: Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Kaitlyn Dever
Release Date: October 21, 2022

This movie seems like a damn great time. I don’t give a flying hoot that the entire movie is essentially in the trailer. So be it. I am okay with it.

Ticket To Paradise brings together two actors who have nearly universal approval rating: George Clooney and Julia Roberts. Also throw in the rising star of Kaitlyn Dever, most known for Booksmart (2019) and the recent flop, Dear Evan Hansen (2021). Ticket To Paradise looks like a return to a classic romantic formula, but at an elevated level. This is not a Netflix romantic comedy. This is a one that has some staying power.

Clooney and Roberts are playing divorced parents who are forced to team up against their will to save their daughter from making the same mistake they made. Lily is set on marrying a man that she met on a whim in Bali, but her parents are distressed that her brash emotional impulses will take away from a promising career and limit her happiness.

Ticket To Paradise will include many emotional moments of lessons learned: parents learning their kid needs to have the independence to make their own decisions, divorced parents learning to be amicable and learn from their differences, and a kid learning that his parents are just people as well who are still learning as they grow.

I hope that Roberts and Clooney can capture the same charisma that they had in Ocean 11 (2001). This movie has the chance to be the feel good movie of the fall.

Also, it has to be said, how good of a location spot was this to film in this location? Ticket To Paradise was filmed on Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia. I want to go there.

OH! And Ticket To Paradise is being directed and written by OI Parker, who did the same with Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018), which had me smiling from start and weeping happy tears at the finish. Even more reason to get excited!

Ticket To Paradise waltzes into theaters on October 21, 2022.

The Mandalorian Chapter 18 (S3E2) Reaction | The Mines Of Mandalore

This is the shit I love. Chapter 18 of The Mandalorian is fantastic television and excellent Star Wars. Plenty of surprises, a bit of exposition, cool visuals and unexplained expansion of lore and stakes; all of these things make The Mines Of Mandalore a great episode of television. From the start of the episode we…
