“She is one of the greatest living women’s basketball players. 3 national trophies. Scored the first basket in women’s Olympic basketball at the ’76 Olympics. Drafted to the NBA. But have you ever heard of Lucy Harris?”

Staring: Lucy Harris
Release Date: June 10, 2021
Simple. Simple, simple, simple.
The Queen Of Basketball does not have any flair. What it does have is an incredible story with an even more remarkable subject. To tell this story strictly from the point of view of its subject with a close up on her irresistibly smiling face was the best decision that director Ben Proudfoot made.
I have no idea who Lucy Davis was before this documentary, but how has there not been a major motion picture made out of her story? She broke down a ton of barriers and literally holds records and milestones that no one can top.
The archival footage that Proudfoot got is prefect for the story and it is honestly remarkable that there is so much footage from the games! Had no idea they were televised. Also how about the NCAA being gigantic assholes when women’s basketball at the collegiate level started.
The Queen Of Basketball is a remarkable story not only for sports or basketball fans, but for anyone who wants to be inspired. You will have a relentless smile on your face. Treat yourself to this. It’s 20 minutes for pure happiness.
ALSO, The Queen Of Basketball was nominated for an Academy Award, so an exercise in culture as well!

There is a lot happening in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning. One could argue that there is too much going on.
Much maligned as the worst of the Mission: Impossible franchise, Mission: Impossible II doesn’t do itself any favors upon rewatch.
