Desperado is not the type of movie to win any awards, but it will win the heart of anyone who matches it. Antonio Banderas is having an absolute blast and Salma Hayek is throwing heat every scene she is in. The whole movie feels as if it was made in Robert Rodriguez’s backyard, making it a passion project with extra pizazz.

We love it when a movie star just goes for it. We love it when an A-List personality and very talented actor decides it’s time to say “fuck it” and throws everything against the wall when making a project. And we especially love it when it’s in a HARD R-rated comedy.

Reptile (2023) is a sleek murder mystery with plenty of intrigue coated with outstanding performances from Benicio Del Toro and Alicia Silverstone. Director Grant Singer is new to the Hollywood directing scene but this foray into movie making is steeped with style. Reptile has plenty of depth to it, and the story that Singer, Benjamin Brewer and Toro weave has plenty of twists. By the end of the movie, the audience feels like it’s been constricted by the deceitfulness of Reptile’s characters, and that makes for a deliciously untrustworthy viewing experience.

Fair Play dives deep into power dynamics and takes courageous chances in getting to its final destination. Writer and director Chloe Domont does not shy away from male vs. female dynamics in the office, or in the bedroom.

The idea of multiple identities or personality is hammered home in the final moments of the trailer when Fassbender is staring into a mirror and stating “Hey.”
