I am currently on my way to Chicago for the Barstool Mini-Golf championship. If you watch, pray the graphics are working well because it’s been my baby for the last month. I am going to be writing this recap in Ubers, in the airport, on the plane and potentially (but hopefully not) in the hotel room late at night.

I will say that I am writing this intro at 4 AM in an Uber, and this car I am in has a spontaneous beeping every 30 seconds. Itโ€™s not a seatbelt warning, but itโ€™s something. Itโ€™s brutal. The driver just doesnโ€™t seem to care, but I am using more patience than I would look at the crack ass before dawn.

If anyone has any thoughts, comments, concerns or ideas, please feel free to let me know.

WEEK TWO SCOREBOARD

  • Vaghi and Stanko tied, 5-5-1.
    • For the second straight week, I have gone up against the best โ€œHitโ€ category performer.
      • Vaghi had Spencer Steer and Nolan Arenado each had nine hits.
        • Steer had three home runs and nine RBI. Not too shabby.
    • I was fortunate to get the tie. Really just crippled by the fact that my first round draft pick may be out for the year. It was nice knowing you Spencer Strider.
  • Eric humbled Kenney, 9-1-1
    • Eric cruises into first place in the standings with a dominant win over Kenney.
      • Kenney ranked seventh or worst in five of the six hitting categories and Eric took advantage.
      • Ericโ€™s team performed remarkably well in the pitching categories.
        • Eric had the best week in strikeouts, wins and saves. Also ranked third in ERA and WHIP.
  • Huntley eked out a 6-4-1 win over Billy.
    • I have reached the point in my flight where I am no longer getting WiFi even though I paid for it, so I am frustrated.ย
    • Billy is one of two teams yet to win this season.
    • Last week, Huntley had the worst WHIP in the two years Iโ€™ve been tracking. Now he had the best WHIP of the week and is the first to go sub 1.000.
  • DiMaio cruised to a 8-2-1 win over List.
    • How DiMaio only had two wins with his team having an ERA under 2.00 and nearly under 1.00 is bonkers. Not entirely show how that math works.
    • List did not have any luck in the hitting categories, besides stolen bases where he led the league.
  • Bove and Michaud tied, 5-5-1.
    • Michaud and Bove were very close in the hitting categories, but Michaud took the edge.
      • Justin had one more RBI and one more SB and the OBP was a difference of hundreths of a decimal point.
      • Bove cruised the pitching categories, granted he only had one more win.

WEEK TWO STATISTICS DEEP DIVE

Overall Summary

  • If you tied this week, then you did not do very well in the pitching categories.
  • If you won this week, the you dominated the pitching categories.
    • Top three in ERA and WHIP all won, as well as top two in Strikeouts and Wins.
  • Billy has finished last back-to-back weeks in the RBI category.
  • Bove ranked fourth in four different categories: RBI, Saves, ERA and WHIP
  • DiMaio ranked fourth or higher in nine different categories.
    • Had the best average statistical rank in week two.
  • Eric finished ranked first in three categories, all pitching: Strikeouts, Wins and Saves
  • Huntley went from worst to first in ERA and WHIP. Nice turnaround between weeks one and week two.
  • After dominating last week, Kenney struggled this week.
    • Last week his 50 hits were ranked first (short week), and this week he had 50 hits again which ranks ninth.
  • List finished week two dead last in hits and runs scored.
  • In week one, Michaud ranked third in ERA and WHIP….in week two, Michaud ranked eighth in the same categories.
  • Stanko ranked in the bottom half in eight different categories. Lucky to get the tie.
  • Vaghi finished with the most hits of the week, runs batted in, and saves. Also makes sense he had zero wins if his team ERA was 6.57.
  • Almost every category had a new best of worst landmark set; seeing how this was actually a full week and not a shortened on.
