Do you love action? Do you love over-the-top violence? Do you hate Nazis?
May I introduce you to a little movie called Sisu (2023).
Switchback (1997) is a classic cat & mouse game with an aloof cop and a rambunctiously charismatic killer. The shocking part of the story is who plays what part.
Maestro (2023) is staying in the musical realm, but changing the dynamic of the relationship. Cooper isn’t going to be playing the overshadowed former star. Instead, Cooper is going to be playing renowned musical talent Leonard Bernstein as he becomes one of the most iconic conductors of all time. The lens through which we will view many of Leonard’s actions is his wife Felecia, who will be played by two-time Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan.
Three Days Of The Condor (1975) is a damn good spy thriller. It is not in the upper echelon of espionage movies, but neither is it just pure entertainment fodder. Director Sydney Pollack takes the star power of Robert Redford and portrays him as a common man in an uncommon situation. The plot provides twists and turns and Max von Sydow in a supporting role is a perfect amalgamation of an evil Jacques Clouseau.
Till (2022) is a true story based on 27 years of research by producer, writer and filmmaker Keith Beauchamp. His work and writing about the Emmett Till case, which dates back to the 1990s, helped bring the Till case back to the United States Department Of Justice in 2004. The murder of Emmett Till was a galvanizing moment for the civil rights movements, and Till tells the story of how his mother Mamie Till Mobley (Danielle Deadwyler) stood up to injustice and made an evergreen stamp in the fight against racism.
I am going to be that guy. The book was way better than the movie.
